💃🏻 Democratic Woman's Club Vice-Presidential Debate Party
Hello ,
Our first debate party was small but fun. Some members chose to cut the video, watch from their own televisions, maintaning a steady chat stream with other members as the Biden/Trump debate devolved.
There will be a shared streamed video of the debate on our Zoom screen for those of us who do not have television channel packages. Chat will definitely be open and we can all unmute to cheer Kamala on.
This will be the only vice presidential debate and is scheduled to run for 90 minutes without commercial interruptions from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. The conversation will also be divided into nine segments, with approximately 10 minutes for each portion.
Susan Page, the Washington bureau chief of USA Today, will moderate the debate. She is also the author of
and the forthcoming

Thanks to clubmember Alyce Pipkin-Allen, Michael Vu, Registrar of Voters will be our main speaker. He will discuss how the November 2020 election will be conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic. As the pandemic has disrupted many aspects of our daily life, so too it has disrupted how the presidential general election will be conducted and how voters will be able to cast their ballot. Your attendance will give you an opportunity to learn firsthand how the Registrar of Voters will respond to the pandemic while ensuring all eligible voters will be able to safely exercise their right to vote.
Our members have asked for us to reserve time after the main program to discuss among ourselves remaining ballot measures that we are still unclear about. Among our members are women who are knowledgable about these issues. We will make every effort to have a wide range of voices to discuss issues that our members bring up. If there are propositions or measures that are giving you problems, please let me know so that I can make sure we have that issue covered from both sides.
Please register in advance for this meeting if you haven't already done so.
