Hello ,

As we are all collectively holding our breath as we approach November 3, with a overwhelming sense of urgency, lets each of us make sure that we have left nothing on the table. Now is the time to do whatever you had any intention of doing- donating, texting, calling whatever- do it now. Democracies are not easily kept, they have to be worked for. Please join us for our next meeting, to help keep your spirits up - remember the road to defeating facsism is through all of us working together toward a common goal. When: Monday, October 19: Meeting starts at 6:30 PM but please start checking in at 6:00 PM, to help us get the meeting started on time.

Where: Zoom registration is required – if you’re a clubmember or participant click here to register ahead of time. All of the details on how to join will be emailed back to you â€“ including dial-in details from a landline.

Our meetings are available live on our YouTube channel. However, we will cut off livestreaming during a sensitive time during this meeting.

Registrar of Voters

This will be a virtual briefing and discussion describing how the November 2020 election will be conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic.  As the pandemic has disrupted many aspects of our daily life, so too it has disrupted how the presidential general election will be conducted and how voters will be able to cast their ballot.  Your attendance will give you an opportunity to learn firsthand how the Registrar of Voters will respond to the pandemic while ensuring all eligible voters will be able to safely exercise their right to vote.

Director Vu's Biography:

Michael has over 23 years of election experience. Before being appointed in December 2012 as the San Diego County Registrar of Voters, Mr. Vu served for over five years as the Assistant Registrar.He is responsible for election administration of one of the largest election jurisdictions in the country with a registered voter population of nearly 1.8 million. Mr. Vu oversees all primary, general, special, and district elections for the County as well as elections for the surrounding municipalities.Before his appointment in San Diego County, Mr. Vu worked for three and a half years for the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections, Ohio, as Director. Prior to relocating to Ohio, he spent seven years working for the Salt Lake County Elections Division under the direction of the Salt Lake County Clerk.He has worked tirelessly to improve the elections process and has been involved on both a local and national level to discuss the status of election administration. He has testified before the United States House Administration Committee and the United States Election Assistance Commission. He has also spoken with numerous international, national and local media outlets, most notably The New York Times, CNN, TV Asahi, The Washington Post, and The BBC.
