Welcome and Introductions
President Susan Peinado opened the meeting at 6:30PM
Bylaw Change
Bylaw change to match Endorsement Policy and confirm threshold to endorse at 60%. Motion passed unanimously.
Meeting turned over to Endorsement Committee

Explanation of Ranked Choice Voting to be used for endorsements with multiple candidates.
San Diego County Board of Supervisors District 1 (Ranked Choice Voting) – Rafael Castellanos, Ben Hueso (represented by Jessica Hayes), Nora Vargas, Sophia Rodriguez
Vote: Nora Vargas endorsed
San Diego Community College Board District B (Friendly Incumbent) – Bernie Rhinerson
Vote: Bernie Rhinerson – passed unanimously
San Diego County Board of Supervisors District 2 – Kenya Taylor
Motion to endorse by acclamation (Ruth Rollins) – passed unanimously
San Diego County Board of Supervisors District 3 – Olga Diaz, Terra Lawson-Remer
Vote: No candidate reached 60% threshold
Motion to rate both candidates acceptable (Cody Peterson) – passed unanimously
Congressional District 52 (Friendly Incumbent) – Scott Peters
Motion to endorse by acclamation (Ruth Rollins) – passed unanimously

Thanks and praise to the Endorsement Committee
The Women’s Museum of California will be celebrating Women’s Equality Day in Balboa Park with their annual Suffrage Parade and Rally on August 26, 4:00 PM on the lawn area across from the Organ Pavilion.
Book Club – Dr. Mattingly led discussion on, How All Politics Became Reproductive Politics, at Women’s Museum (thanks to Anne Hoiberg).Next book – We Live for the We, The Political Power of Black Motherhood by Dani McCain. Discussion TBD.
