Hello ,The Democratic Woman’s Club will not be meeting in August, but will be back at Elijah’s on Monday, September 15th. Details to follow.

However, each year, the Women’s Museum of California commemorates Women’s Equality Day—not only to honor the passage of the 19th Amendment, but to recognize the ongoing fight to expand access to the ballot and build a more inclusive democracy.

They have invited the Democratic Women's Club to join in for a special community event on Thursday, August 28 at Gossip Grill. This year, they're having a guided painting class that blends floral imagery with themes of voting rights and empowerment—offering a creative way to reflect on the past while imagining a more equitable future.

This event marks the anniversary of the certification of the 19th Amendment, a pivotal milestone in the movement for women’s voting rights. It’s a chance to gather in community, reflect on progress, and express yourself through art.

They are also hosting free family-friendly activitieson August 23 in Balboa Park, including a women’s history-themed scavenger hunt. Participants who complete the hunt will receive a free Women’s Equality Day patch.
