May 16th Meeting Reminder

May 16th Meeting Reminder

Hello ,May Is Wellness Month. Are you taking time to take care of YOUR wellness needs? For the mothers, the grandmothers and all the caregivers, as we celebrate Mother's Day on May 8th, do not forget to take a moment for your self. As when you are flying, you must put on your own oxygen mask first, before addressing the needs of those in your care, or you will be of no use to anyone! At our May 16th meeting we will be taking a moment to stop, breath and rejuvenate.

PROPOSED BYLAWS CHANGE

In addition to finding our inner peace, we will be taking time to consider a suggested bylaws change. To make budgeting easier, to make the Treasurer’s and Director of Membership’s jobs easier and to provide a more certain income stream on which to base an annual budget, the committee working on a club budgeting and giving process recommends a change to the bylaws making annual dues payable yearly on January 1, instead of members renewing annually on a rolling anniversary date.  The proposed bylaw change is as follows:The bylaws currently read: ARTICLE III: MEMBERSHIP     SECTION 3 - DUES

  1. Dues are payable upon joining the Club and shall be renewed annually on that anniversary date. Members will be given a one (1) month grace period before their membership is considered lapsed.

  2. Payment of dues shall not be obligatory to anyone for whom it constitutes an economic hardship after due consideration and approval by the Executive Board.

  3. Dues shall be reviewed, annually, at the October meeting of the Executive Board. Any changes recommended will be voted on at the October General Membership Meeting.

Proposed changes are: ARTICLE III: MEMBERSHIP     SECTION 3 - DUES

Members will be given a one (1) month grace period before their membership is considered lapsed  then annually at the beginning of every club calendar year thereafter and no later than January 31st.
