Jan 19 – Monthly Meeting – Steve Rivera’s Vision for the Party

We kick off the new year discussing our hopes for the coming year.

Many of us are concerned that the Democratic Party has lost its way both nationally and here in San Diego County.

We believe that good policies is good politics and that the Party needs to stand up for its core beliefs.

Most people agree with us on the fundamental issues of equality of opportunity, environmental stewardship, a woman’s right to control her body and the responsibility of government to ensure a level playing field.

We need to stand strong for the average person and the middle class.

When we stand up for what is right, we win. When we try to play both ends against the middle, we lose.

Steve Rivera is challenging Francine Busby for the position of Chair of the County Party. The vote is on Tuesday 20 January at the Central Committee meeting, so the chance to hear Steve outline his vision and respond to your questions couldn’t be more timely.

There’s been some recent, good, informed commentary in City Beat (John Lamb) and the San Diego Free Press (Doug Porter) related to this important discussion.

Come along and enjoy what promises to be a great evening, there is no charge to attend the meeting.

We’ve booked a great venue at the Sunset Temple in North Park.

We’ll also be voting on the Executive Board positions for 2015.

Nominations include:
