Even if you are not living in D4, electing Monica Montgomery Steppe will impact your district and how effective our Board of Supervisors will be. For this reason, we are sharing with our members this important information from the San Diego County Democratic Party to be sure everyone has the information. Voting is well underway in the special election for San Diego County Supervisor in District 4, which now stretches from Clairemont through Mid-City neighborhoods and into East County. The results will affect not just that seat but our entire Democratic majority in county government.The Democratic Party's endorsed candidate, San Diego City Councilmember Monica Montgomery Steppe, is running an uplifting grassroots campaign to get her message out. But as usual, voters in the district have been bombarded by deceitful mailers, and we know that turnout in special elections often favors Republicans.So we're calling on amazing volunteers like you to help us Get Out the Vote through Election Day on August 15! You can help by signing up for an upcoming GOTV action event. Here are some options:
Door-to-door canvassing — Knock on doors to speak directly with voters in the community. Canvass events are every Saturday and Sunday, with shifts from 10:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m or 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Training will be provided.
Phonebanking (from home) — Make calls to voters to help reach a broader audience. In a scheduled Zoom meeting you'll be provided with a script and all necessary information to answer questions and encourage people to vote early.
Texting (from home) — Send text messages to voters to share key election information and urge them to vote.
