Endorsement MeetingSunday, January 9, 2022: 1:00 – 4:30 PM

 Please join your fellow Democratic Woman's Club of San Diego (DWC-SD) members for our first meeting of the 2022 Election cycle that will be dedicated to endorsing candidates for the June 2022 Primary Election.The DWCSD will attempt to endorse in the following races on Sunday, January 9, starting at 1:00 PMSan Diego City Council District 6

• Tommy Hough

• Kent Lee

• Aleena Jun Nawabi

• The two additional candidates who were running for this seat no longer live in the district post-redistricting

San Diego County Board of Supervisors District 5

• Tiffany Boyd-Hodgson

• The additional candidate who was running for this seat no longer lives in the district post-redistricting

San Diego Unified School Board District B

• Shana Hazan

• Godwin Higa

San Diego Unified School Board District C

• Lily Higman

• Cody Petterson

In addition, we will attempt to endorse in all the San Diego County Congressional seats, which will include two (2) Friendly Incumbent Endorsement considerations and three (3) contested races. Note we have updated the Congressional district numbers based on the release of the final redistricting maps on December 20, 2021.

Additionally, the DWC-SD will attempt to endorse in the following race at our regular meeting on Monday, January17 at 6:30 PM. San Diego City Council District 2

Only DWC-SD members who are eligible to vote on endorsements as of January 9, 2022, will receive an invitation with a coded link to your ballot, so please do not share your invitation with others.

As a reminder, per the Club by-laws as amended on 11/16/2021: “A General Member in good standing who has attended at least two (2) prior meetings, as a member, in the previous twelve (12) months shall be eligible to vote for Club Officer elections and Club endorsements.”

You do not need to take any action today to receive the Zoom meeting link and the meeting materials. However, it will be extremely important for you to watch for the reminder email we will send you on January 3. For voting members, that email will provide a secure link to view the candidates’ completed questionnaires, the coded link to your ballot and a private members’ only link to the Zoom meeting. General members in good standing who are not eligible to vote will be sent the members only Zoom linkand access to review the completed questionnaires. . Access to the candidate questionnaires and the endorsement ballot will be open until the end of the voting period on Sunday, January 9. Members eligible to vote will be able to vote anytime between receipt of your email on January 3, and close of voting on January 9, 2022. While you will be able to vote early, you will only be able to vote once. Please mark your ballot carefully because if you make a mistake, you will not be able to correct it once the ballot has been submitted. Again, please watch for your final confirmation email on January 3, 2022.
