Dear
,
Endorsement Meeting
Sunday, June 28: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Please join your fellow Democratic Woman's Club (DWC) members for the first of two meetings this summer that will be dedicated to endorsing candidates for the November General Election. This first meeting will focus on races we were unable to include in our endorsement process for the Primary election cycle.
On June 28 we will attempt to endorse in the following races:
San Diego Unified School Board District A
Sabrina Bazzo (only Democrat to advance to the General)
San Diego Unified School Board District D
Richard Barrera (friendly incumbent)
San Diego Unified School Board District E
LaWana Richmond
Sharon Whitehurst-Payne
(two Democrats who advanced to the General)
San Diego County Board of Education District 1
Gregg Robinson (only Democrat to advance to the General)
San Diego County Board of Education District 2
Guadalupe Gonzalez (friendly incumbent)
Superior Court Judge Seat 30:
Tim Nader (only Democrat to advance to the General)
San Diego City Attorney:
Cory Briggs and Mara Elliott (two Democrats who advanced to the General; revisiting this race per membership vote on May 18, 2020)
Only DWC Members who are eligible to vote on endorsements as of June 28, are being invited to attend this meeting, so please do not share this invitation with others. You do not need to take any action today to receive the Zoom meeting link and the meeting materials. However, it will be extremely important for you to watch for the reminder email we will send you on June 25. That email will provide you with a secure link to view the candidates’ completed questionnaires and a coded link to your ballot. That email will also include the private link to the Zoom meeting for DWC members who are eligible to vote as of June 28, 2020.
Access to the candidate questionnaires and the endorsement ballot will be open until the end of the voting period on Sunday. You will be able to vote anytime between receipt of your email on June 25 and close of voting at Noon on June 28. While you will be able to vote early, you will only be able to vote once. Please mark your ballot carefully because If you make a mistake, you will not be able to correct it once the ballot has been submitted.
Again, please watch for your final confirmation email on June 25. That email will provide more detail and instructions, as well as access to your personal ballot, the Zoom meeting link and the candidate questionnaires.
Regards,
Yvonne Elkin
